Oldcastle Infrastructure Inc. is adding plastics to its portfolio with the strategic acquisition of National Pipe & Plastics Inc.

Founded in 1970, National serves the potable water, wastewater, electrical conduit and drainage markets from two East Coast locations making PVC pipe. The company is based in Endicott, N.Y., with manufacturing locations in Endicott and Greensboro, N.C.

"National serves the same markets and end customers as Oldcastle Infrastructure, with PVC pipe frequently being installed next to our products on the same job sites by the same contractors," Jason Jackson, president of Oldcastle Infrastructure, said.

Atlanta-based Oldcastle Infrastructure makes concrete storm water, enclosure and building accessory products.

"Combining PVC pipe with Oldcastle Infrastructure's existing products will create a unique offering and an opportunity to provide customers with value-added end-to-end solutions," Jackson said.

The acquisition comes at a time that demand for PVC pipe is growing thanks to long-term macro trends, increasing market adoption and sustainability benefits, such as a long service life.

Oldcastle Infrastructure is part of Atlanta-based building materials firm CRH Americas Inc., which touts itself as the largest manufacturer of building products and materials in North America.
